Axure Tutorial: Add Notes to Widget

Introduction

Notes can be used to remind stakeholders to reach a consensus understanding, and can also be used for memos.

Add Notes to Widget

There are two ways to add notes to widget.

1. Add a Note in the Page Notes pane and assign it to the Widget.

Select assigned widget

 

When no widget is selected, fill in a widget note (under page note) in the Notes pane. Then click Assign Widget to assign the note to the corresponding widget.

2. Select a Widget and fill in the widget note.

Edit Widget Notes

Click the gear button, the Notes Fields and Sets window will pop up, click the Edit Widget Notes tab.

There are 3 field types: Text, Select list, Number.

Add
Click the +Add button, you can select one of the types in the drop-down list, and edit the content of this type on the right.

Delete
Select one of the fields and click the Delete button to delete the field.

Reorder
Select one of the fields and click the up or down button to reorder the field.

Edit Widget Fieldsets 

Click the Edit Widget Fieldsets tab, add, reorder or delete Fieldsets on the left, and add specific fields on the right. All fields added in the Edit Widget Notes can be added here.

Select Fieldsets

On the Notes pane, you can choose to display All fields or the Fieldsets you just set.

All Widget Notes will display all note fields.

Specific Fieldset
Display the selected fieldset.

Include Text / Interactions

Click the overflow button on the right side of the widget notes, in the drop-down list, you can choose whether to display/hide the text and Interactions of the Widget.

 

View Widget Notes in Prototype 

After previewing the prototype, you can click the mark on the prototype to view the widget notes.
